- HP ProCurve 6600-24G-4XG (J9264AD) is the switch IT teams supporting colocation and hosting environments packing dense server racks often turn to when they need something that just works. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 32 total network ports, laid out as 20xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink and 4x10 Gigabit EthernetSFP+,Uplink, topping out at 10GbE per port. It also adds SFP (mini-GBIC),SFP+ expansion for uplinks. With 4 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. Because it supports Layer 3 routing, inter-VLAN traffic and routing tables can live on the switch instead of a separate router. On the compatibility side, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, a 19-inch rack fit, takes ac input power, and uses standard front-to-back airflow to match common data-center airflow layouts.
