- HP ProCurve 2510-48G (J9280A#ABB-02) is built to handle data centers, virtualization hosts and server rooms that need high east-west throughput without drama. This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. It brings 52 total network ports, laid out as 44xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. As a Layer 2 switch, it focuses on fast MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation rather than routing. It rounds this out with SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. Onboard flash storage of 16 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch.
