  • HP PS1810 PS1810-8G (J9833AR#ABB) makes sense if you're shopping for anyone who wants a no-configuration switch that just extends the network. Growing offices and branch sites that want managed features like VLANs, QoS and basic monitoring - but not the cost of a full data-center switch - line up well with this one. It brings 8 total network ports, laid out as 8xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Onboard flash storage of 8 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead.
