- HP 5500 5500-24G EI (JD377AR#ACC) is the switch IT teams supporting data centers, virtualization hosts and server rooms that need high east-west throughput often turn to when they need something that just works. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 30 total network ports, laid out as 24xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Shared,Uplink and 2xExpansion Module, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port.
