- HP FlexFabric 5800AF-48G (JG225B-RNG) is built to handle IT teams building out server, NAS and storage backbones without drama. This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. On the port side, you get 54 total network ports, laid out as 48xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 6x10 Gigabit EthernetSFP+, topping out at 10GbE per port. Because it supports Layer 3 routing, inter-VLAN traffic and routing tables can live on the switch instead of a separate router. It also adds SFP+ expansion for uplinks. With 512 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. On the compatibility side, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, a 19-inch rack fit, takes ac input power, and uses standard front-to-back airflow to match common data-center airflow layouts.
