  • HP OfficeConnect 1420-24G (JG708B#AC4) makes sense if you're shopping for small retail counters or back offices needing a couple of extra ports. It's aimed at home offices, small businesses and workgroups that want extra reliable ports without the complexity of VLANs or CLI configuration - plug it in and it works. Port-wise, it offers 24 total network ports, laid out as 24xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. On top of that, it has a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. With 1 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead. For installation, it's desktop-friendly, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling.
