Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 28 total network ports, laid out as 24xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 2x10 Gigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 2x10 Gigabit EthernetSFP+, topping out at 10GbE per port. On top of that, it has SFP+ expansion for uplinks. Onboard flash storage of 128 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. Layer 3 support means it routes between VLANs on its own rather than forwarding everything to an upstream router.
