  • HP OfficeConnect 1420-8G (JH329A#ABG) is built to handle anyone who wants a no-configuration switch that just extends the network without drama. It's aimed at home offices, small businesses and workgroups that want extra reliable ports without the complexity of VLANs or CLI configuration - plug it in and it works. On the port side, you get 8 total network ports, laid out as 8xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Configuration persists in onboard memory through reboots and power cycles, no separate storage needed. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. For installation, it's desktop-friendly, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling.
