  • HP OfficeConnect 1420-8G (JH329A#ACE) is a strong, no-nonsense fit for small retail counters or back offices needing a couple of extra ports. Home offices, small businesses and workgroups that just want more reliable ports - without VLANs or a CLI to learn - are the target here. Plug it in and go. Port-wise, it offers 8 total network ports, laid out as 8xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Firmware and configuration live in onboard non-volatile memory, surviving reboots and power cycles. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead.
