  • HP OfficeConnect 1420-8G (JH329A#ACJ) is built to handle workgroups and small offices adding extra wired ports without extra configuration without drama. Home offices, small businesses and workgroups that just want more reliable ports - without VLANs or a CLI to learn - are the target here. Plug it in and go. Wiring is handled by 8 total network ports, laid out as 8xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Settings and firmware are stored in onboard non-volatile memory, so they survive reboots and power cycles. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. Physically, it's desktop-friendly, rack-friendly, drawing ac input power and exhausting air standard front-to-back airflow, so it fits cleanly next to existing gear.
