  • HP OfficeConnect 1850-24G-2XGT (JL170A#0D1) shows up a lot in shortlists for IT teams building out server, NAS and storage backbones, and for good reason. This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. Port-wise, it offers 26 total network ports, laid out as 26xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 2x10 Gigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at 10GbE per port. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead. Beyond the base ports, there's a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Onboard flash storage of 128 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. For installation, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling.
