  • HP OfficeConnect 1850-24G-2XGT (JL170A#ACD) makes sense if you're shopping for network cores and aggregation layers feeding busy server racks. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. It brings 26 total network ports, laid out as 26xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 2x10 Gigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at 10GbE per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Onboard flash storage of 128 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. For installation, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling.
