  • HP OfficeConnect 1850-24G-2XGT (JL170A#ACE) is worth a close look if you're setting up or upgrading a network for organizations running virtualization clusters, NAS arrays or render farms that need low-latency, high-bandwidth links. This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. It brings 26 total network ports, laid out as 26xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 2x10 Gigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at 10GbE per port. It also adds a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. A built-in 128 (MB) of flash storage holds firmware images and config backups on the switch itself. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead. Mounting is straightforward: rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, standard 19-inch rails, ac input power, and standard front-to-back airflow that lines up with typical rack airflow planning.
