This switch is best suited to storage administrators building or scaling a SAN: connecting servers, HBAs and disk arrays over Fibre Channel where dropped frames aren't an option. It's not aimed at general office networking, so pair it with your existing Ethernet LAN rather than replacing it. Port-wise, it offers 24 total network ports, laid out as 24x16 Gigabit EthernetSFP+. Beyond the base ports, there's SFP+ expansion for uplinks. Onboard flash storage of 32 (GB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. As a Fibre Channel switch it handles SAN traffic at with low latency.
