  • HP FlexNetwork 3600 24 PoE+ v2 EI (JG301CR) shows up a lot in shortlists for growing offices that need to power dozens of endpoints straight from the switch, and for good reason. It's a good match for IT teams standardizing wiring closets across a campus, schools and offices deploying wireless APs at scale, and security teams running IP camera networks that need power and data on one cable. Facilities with virtualization or NAS traffic riding the same switch will also benefit from the extra headroom. Wiring is handled by 30 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetPoE+,RJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink/Stacking and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink/Stacking, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. On top of that, it has SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. With 128 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. With PoE+ on board, APs, cameras and VoIP phones can draw power directly from the switch instead of separate injectors. Layer 3 support means it routes between VLANs on its own rather than forwarding everything to an upstream router. Physically, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, rack-friendly, drawing ac input power and exhausting air standard front-to-back airflow, so it fits cleanly next to existing gear.
