- HP ProCurve 2510-24 (J9019-69101) is the switch IT teams supporting IT teams building out server, NAS and storage backbones often turn to when they need something that just works. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. It brings 28 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetRJ-45 and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 2xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It rounds this out with SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. A built-in 8 (MB) of flash storage holds firmware images and config backups on the switch itself. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead. For installation, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling. Also, built-in console access makes setup and firmware recovery easier; twisted pair,optical fiber media over SFP (mini-GBIC) covers both copper and fiber runs.
