- HP ProCurve 2510-48G (J9280AS) is the switch IT teams supporting organizations running virtualization clusters, NAS arrays or render farms that need low-latency, high-bandwidth links often turn to when they need something that just works. This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. Port-wise, it offers 52 total network ports, laid out as 44xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. Layer 2 operation keeps the design lean - MAC-table forwarding and VLANs, without routing overhead. On top of that, it has SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. With 16 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. On the compatibility side, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, a 19-inch rack fit, takes ac input power, and uses standard front-to-back airflow to match common data-center airflow layouts.
