This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 52 total network ports, laid out as 48xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC), topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. It also adds SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. Onboard flash storage of 8 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch.
