Wiring is handled by 24 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Fast Ethernet (100Mb) per port. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. It rounds this out with a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. With 16 (KB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. It slots into a standard 19-inch rack in a 1U footprint, without any special hardware, runs on ac input power, and follows standard front-to-back airflow for predictable cooling.
