It brings 16 total network ports, laid out as 16xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. As a Layer 2 switch, it focuses on fast MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation rather than routing. It rounds this out with a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. With 1 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. It slots into a standard 19-inch rack in a 1U footprint, without any special hardware, runs on ac input power, and follows standard front-to-back airflow for predictable cooling.
