- HP Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A) is built to handle network cores and aggregation layers feeding busy server racks without drama. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. On the port side, you get 28 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetRJ-45 and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 2xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. As a Layer 2 switch, it focuses on fast MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation rather than routing. On top of that, it has SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. Firmware and configuration live in onboard non-volatile memory, surviving reboots and power cycles. Mounting is straightforward: rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, standard 19-inch rails, ac input power, and standard front-to-back airflow that lines up with typical rack airflow planning.
