- HP Aruba 2530-24 (J9782AR) is the switch IT teams supporting colocation and hosting environments packing dense server racks often turn to when they need something that just works. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 28 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetRJ-45 and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink and 2xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. Beyond the base ports, there's SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. Settings and firmware are stored in onboard non-volatile memory, so they survive reboots and power cycles. Layer 2 switching keeps things fast and simple: MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation. On the compatibility side, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, a 19-inch rack fit, takes ac input power, and uses standard front-to-back airflow to match common data-center airflow layouts.
