- HP FlexFabric 5800-48G (JC105A) is the switch IT teams supporting IT teams building out server, NAS and storage backbones often turn to when they need something that just works. Data centers and server rooms running virtualization hosts, NAS/SAN backbones, render farms or AI/ML training nodes are the natural fit, since all of them move heavy traffic between servers. It also works well aggregating traffic from smaller access-layer switches. Wiring is handled by 53 total network ports, laid out as 48xGigabit EthernetRJ-45 and 4x10 Gigabit EthernetSFP+ and 1xExpansion Module, topping out at 10GbE per port. Layer 3 routing handles inter-VLAN traffic and static or dynamic routes on the switch itself. On top of that, it has SFP+,Expansion Module expansion for uplinks. With 512 (MB) of onboard flash, firmware and configuration backups don't depend on a remote server. For installation, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling.
