  • HP FlexNetwork 3600 24 PoE+ v2 EI (JG301A#ABB) shows up a lot in shortlists for IT teams standardizing wiring closets across a multi-building campus, and for good reason. Campus IT teams, schools and offices deploying wireless APs and IP cameras at scale get the most from this one, since power and data ride the same cable. It has enough headroom for some virtualization or NAS traffic on the same switch too. Wiring is handled by 30 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetPoE+,RJ-45 and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink/Stacking and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink/Stacking, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. With PoE+ on board, APs, cameras and VoIP phones can draw power directly from the switch instead of separate injectors. Layer 3 routing handles inter-VLAN traffic and static or dynamic routes on the switch itself. It also adds SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks. Onboard flash storage of 128 (MB) keeps firmware and config backups local to the switch. Physically, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, rack-friendly, drawing ac input power and exhausting air standard front-to-back airflow, so it fits cleanly next to existing gear.
