This model fits data center and server-room deployments: virtualization hosts, NAS and SAN backbones, render farms and AI/ML training nodes that move large volumes of data between servers. It also works well as an aggregation switch feeding traffic up from access-layer switches. Port-wise, it offers 30 total network ports, laid out as 24xFast EthernetSFP and 4xGigabit EthernetSFP (mini-GBIC),Uplink/Stacking and 2xGigabit EthernetRJ-45,Uplink/Stacking, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. Layer 3 support means it routes between VLANs on its own rather than forwarding everything to an upstream router. Beyond the base ports, there's SFP (mini-GBIC) expansion for uplinks.
