- HP StoreFabric SN3000B (QW938A) is the switch IT teams supporting data centers connecting servers to shared storage arrays over Fibre Channel often turn to when they need something that just works. It's built for storage teams, not general LAN duty: connecting servers and disk arrays over a Fibre Channel fabric where frame loss isn't acceptable. Keep your Ethernet switches for everything else. Port-wise, it offers 24 total network ports, laid out as 24xSFP+,Active Ports16 Gigabit Ethernet, topping out at 16Gb Fibre Channel per port. Being a Fibre Channel switch, it moves SAN traffic at 16Gb Fibre Channel with the low latency storage fabrics need. On top of that, it has SFP+ expansion for uplinks. Settings and firmware are stored in onboard non-volatile memory, so they survive reboots and power cycles. For installation, it's rack-mount, in a 1U footprint, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, runs on ac input power, and moves air standard front-to-back airflow for straightforward rack cooling. Also, built-in console access plus a USB port makes setup and firmware recovery easier; optical fiber media over SFP+ covers both copper and fiber runs.
