  • HP OfficeConnect 1420-8G (JH329AR) is built to handle home offices and small businesses that just need reliable plug-and-play connectivity without drama. Home offices, small businesses and workgroups that just want more reliable ports - without VLANs or a CLI to learn - are the target here. Plug it in and go. It brings 8 total network ports, laid out as 8xGigabit EthernetRJ-45, topping out at Gigabit (1GbE) per port. It rounds this out with a fixed-port design that keeps configuration simple. Configuration persists in onboard memory through reboots and power cycles, no separate storage needed. As a Layer 2 switch, it focuses on fast MAC-address forwarding and VLAN segmentation rather than routing. On the compatibility side, it's desktop-friendly, a 19-inch rack fit, takes ac input power, and uses standard front-to-back airflow to match common data-center airflow layouts.
